Santa clause is coming to town......

Yay! I could not be more stoked for christmas this year! We are planning on going to Calgary for a whole week (which I booked off) to relax and have a white christmas. So we are doing homemade presents this year and I've been hard at work on them (sorry if I posted pictues, it would just ruin it) and having tons of fun. Also the saturday before christmas will be mine and Lane's 1 year anniversary. So I'm also trying to plan a little something for that too because you only ever get one of the first yr anniversary lol. I feel like a little kid. Like we are turning 1 or something. All in all I'm just really excited for christmas. Having the time off, making the presents, going to calgary to spend time with our family, just every bit of it! I'll take pictures of the projects and post them after christmas.

I'm also super excited that I'm making an appointment to see a dermatologist. I know it's not that interesting to anyone else, but this gives me hope that I can have normal skin. I was at Lynda Calverley's PartyLite party and a lady said to me (who has gorgeous, flawless skin), "oh yours isn't even that bad. What are you worried about?" well first off I really don't like to hear comments like that from people who have never suffered from severe and noticable skin issues. What is that saying again, don't preach what you can't practice....oh no, it's practice what you preach or in other words, don't dabble about something that you have absolutely no clue about (that also goes for people who get ONE pimple around their period). Anyways you have probably noticed that it's something I absolutely DO feel strongly about because at this point it's really affecting my life and stopping me from moving forward, so that being said, you can see why Im estactic for this appointment with the dermatologist!!!! And maybe it will be Santa's present to me...

Emily and Jave

Last night we had one of Lane`s school friends over and her boyfriend, Emily and Jave. We agreed to try `hot pot` for dinner. So first things first, we went to T&T in Coquitlium. And ahh what a fun experience, you never know what anything is and they have such interesting vegetables there. So we got our ingredients........lamb, calamari, fish balls, cabbage, squash and rice of course.

Then you cook it in boiling water. Everything in there at once. Crazy eh

Here we are being shown how it`s done by Emily and Jave.

And I even tried some. Not everything but some of it. It was really good.

For dessert Lane and I decided to go Australian and introduce them to Pavlova. Mmmhmm so tasty that......

We had the appetite for some fun and games. WOW Cranium and Dutch Blitz of course!

Lane and I won WOW Cranium (it was a close call though). And I won the first game of Dutch Blitz and Lane won the second.

Our shining scores haha...

....

I know, I know, it has been over a month. But what am I supposed to blog about when nothing interesting is going on? Well maybe I'll pull a few strings and just tell you the boring. Lane and I went rock climbing last week and it was a blast. We found out that there is a wall like 5 minutes from our house! How cool is that?! .......And I'm dreading this, but I need to find a doctor to figure out whats wrong with me. I've heard from 2 people just today that I have been looking really pasty lately, I have dizzy spells where I can't see anything and have fainted a few times, I've had numerous anxiety attacks can not remember things (like what someone said 2 seconds ago) as well as can't concentrate.....anyways the list keeps getting bigger the longer I leave it. But I don't like doctors and last week when I had a blood test done, I fainted and was out for a good 10 minutes. I really have not been feeling good and I hope it is not going to be anything too serious but I am worried and it's all I can think about. I even tried to brainstorm christmas present ideas but am just drawn back to all this.......ahh well it wasn't pretty or happy but that's the update on my absense this past month

Oatmeal Chocolate Cookies. YuM!

The last few days have been rainy. Fortunately this is perfect weather for making cookies, listening to Jack Johnson and smelling the scent of soy candles burning throughout the house. So I made these cookies but I had to make a few changes becaues I didn't have coconut so I just added another tablespoon of rolled oats and I used milk chocolate chips instead of semisweet which gives it that extra gooey chocolately flavour....mmmm so good. I'm spending the afternoon with Ayla so I'm definitely bringing a plate for her.

We have fruit in our yard! We had no idea what any of these plants were, well except for the blackberries, until fruit started popping up around the yard. We have grapes too, but none this year. Isn't BC great!!! Blueberries, blackberries, apples, and plums.

Morning Yoga on the Dock

I have been starting to get wound up lately and caught up with too much stress which is just adding extra baggage to lugg around. So after a couple anxiety attacks, I was told by many, I need to just take it easy and enjoy life.......I'm glad this has brought on a regular morning or evening yoga routine (which is enjoyed on the dock). I forgot just how amazing it is to take those deep breaths and slow down. Lane snuck a few pictures of me doing yoga this morning, here's one of them! Kind of a funny picture because you can only see water all around me, but the sun was shining on me.
Have a good long weekend everyone.

Beautiful Summer Night

It was nice and hot today, so I just tried to take it easy (on my day off). When the sun set we ran down to the dock to capture the gorgeous night. We watched the tide come in with a bang and I don't think I've ever seen rolling waves like that on this river before.

Holy Moly

Wow, It's almost June and I thought this would be a more regular thing. Well I have been busy though! So Lane and I moved into our new house which is on the Fraser river and absolutely gorgeous (the lot that is). The house on the other hand needs some work done, which is a work in progress right now. The master bedroom, the guest bedroom, the office and the bathroom are all complete. The hallway is next and hopefully this weekend we will tackle the kitchen hard core! It sucks not having a kitchen, eating out has really put a tole on Lane and I. We're always tired. lol Terry comes out on Friday which I'm supre excited about and will stay with us for a week. I dug out some pretty things for the guest bedroom so it will be desirable. And Lane's birthday is on Friday too so we will have a party for him.
Right now Lane and I are in full time accelerated summer school so its been super intense (I feel incompatible with the information being thrown at me). Hopefully this week we will get internet so I can waste time on here more:P They're getting to know us pretty well at the coffee shop near our place since we go there when we're hungry and/or need to use the internet.
Back to where we're living, I'm so excited about it. Every day when I go for my walk, I get inspired from the Hammond community. If I remember, I'll bring a camera and take some pics just to show you. It's spectacular, I promise.
bye for now

March Goals

I've been thinking a lot about this one. Lately, I've been trying to feel more guilty and/or convicted about my bad habits what ever they may be. So this month, I'd like to focus on spending my time more wisely and efficiently. Here are a few goals that I'm going to focus on.
1. Get creative! Make a piece of clothing that is fun and springy (for spring).
2. Set aside time to really enjoy a full yoga session.
3. Utilize this great landscape we've been appreciating these past couple weeks by finding a great saturday hike.
4. Appreciate what I HAVE accomplished/ give myself more compliments.

These are the 4 that I have narrowed down because I really wanna focus on them. The dress is off of www.etsy.com and the beautiful landscape is off of http://vancouverhiking.tripod.com/index.html

Spring has Sprung

Well my birthday was last week. The big one, I'm finally legal in B.C. haha. Lane and I decided to drive down to Whidbey Island in the states. It was a beautiful weekend and we woke up beside the beach on my birthday.
Lane got his VW running this weekend!!! We have a car now and the cutest one on the block. he rebuilt the engine himself with no help (Shawn and Kevin just helped with the install) so I'm quite proud of him. It's like a new car. We are both super excited with this warm sunny weather that we might have spring/summer soon. Which means lots of road trips, hiking, beach time, biking etc. Anyways just an update on these past 2 weeks. We have been quite busy and productive. I'll post pictures up soon.

The good things

I woke up this morning having one of those days. The kind where everything seems to be wrong. I felt so blue and kept dwelling on the things that weren't working in my favor. Instead of having a nap, I decided to plug in my iPod and go for a run. While I was running, I tried to think of as many things as I could that I love! This is what I came up with....
1. Fresh air
2. Running on crunchy leaves
3. Pink trees

4. Tickling Lane

5. This radical bus

6. Sunrays against my skin

7. Surfing/Beaches

8.Morning coffee

9. The color combo teal and chocolate brown
10. Chandeliers

11. Bob Marley

12. The Train Game!

13. Listening to different peoples stories

14. Yoga

15. Damask pattern

16. Gerber daisies

These are just a few things that has changed my mood today. I'm going to think of these things when I've got negative thoughts taking over my mind.

~The Beginning~

Lane and I committed our love to each other on December 18/2009. It was the most perfect day! With all the meticulous planning that was contributed to this day, we couldn't have planned the sweetness it expelled. Getting married wasn't the beginning per se, but rather a continuation of our journey together. Having it be almost 4 years we had been together, there weren't any surprises when we got married. We had a few friends tell us how we'd find out quirky little things about each other but this hasn't happened (yet anyways). We've comfortably fallen into a routine together feeling as if we've always been married.
