Our Pretty (fun) Weekend

So I had a birthday and valentines had past.....exciting week in other words (and busy for Lane). We had decided since I was working valentines night that we would celebrate it on Friday evening. I also took off Saturday so that we could celebrate my birthday together. If any of youknow, I haven't had a Saturday off in a VERY long time so this was extra special.

Friday Evening:

I had the day off so I had a lot of time to prepare a delicious supper with parmesan chicken, seasoned asparagus, and whole wheat pasta in a creamy homemade alfredo sauce. It actually turned out quite well for not having that much experience in the kitchen. I set the table all pretty with pink flowers, chocolates and candles. It was the prefect valentines!

Saturday:

Lane made me vanilla crepes in the morning (out of Mum's scrapbook cookbook) which were absolutely delicious. We then packed a lunch and headed towards Allouette lake, quite far past it actually, to the Lower Falls hike. Even though the sun was shining it was very chilly and unexpected when we got into the thick trees. It was about and hour and a half each way.

Then since the hike wasn't as long as we expected we headed to the city to look at wetsuits on West 4th. I love that street! I'm so glad I'll be spending a whole lot more time there soon (I'll get to that part...).

Sunday:

Well the usual in the morning. But this sun isn’t so usual, however, I’m definitely not complaining! After lunch we were inspired to get some supplies to start planting. Ron made me a window box for Christmas so we wanted to fill that first. Lane installed it and the we went up the street to Triple Tree. Amazing place, I could literally spend all day there but we were far too excited because this time we were actually buying stuff!

We also transplanted the grape vine, blueberry bush and daisies to the side of the house
All in all it was a fantastic weekend. I couldn't have asked for more! Oh and before I forget, on my birthday, I had an interview. The interview was for the gym I go to (Fitness Unlimited) to do reception work. I really need a second job so that I can save for the September yoga program at Semperviva on West 4th. This is the perfect opportunity and although most people don't see this as a dream job, I was so excited when I got the call. This is actually starting to look really good for me. It feels totally right and not forced at all. I couldn't be more excited for this job, it will open up so many possibilities!
